No fame and fortune can shield these celebrities from a phobia. Kylie Jenner and Nicole Kidman share a fear of butterflies, while action star Sylvester Stallone reported fear of heights along with singer Sheryl Crow.

The South China Morning Post explored phobias and its causes, and Dr Zaidi was interviewed to share insights into its origins and available treatments.

“The imagined threat is greater than any actual threat posed by the cause of terror. Phobias involve both fear and avoidance. The avoidance can reduce the constant feelings of severe distress and sometimes this can lead to impairment of daily functioning,”
